Traffic

trafficJust like you I face the traffic congestion in Torrance every day.  And, as a president of the Northwest Torrance Homeowners Association, I have been actively working with our city staff for several years to remediate many of the problems.

Whenever traffic flow or traffic calming issues have been brought to my attention by members of our homeowners association or other nearby residents, I have actively sought out a resolution with the city.  And, for the most part, I have been very successful.  I have found that having a relationship with those persons charged with the responsibility and suggesting a reasonable resolution goes a long way to solving the problem.  As a City Councilman, I will use my experience to resolve issues city-wide.

One major problem with traffic is the lack of synchronization of traffic signals on certain streets – most notably Hawthorne Boulevard and Pacific Coast Highway.  The City is working on both of these heavily traveled routes.  It will take some major negotiations with state authorities to gain control of those streets.  And, I am ready and willing to take on that task.
